Helping change lives is the primary work of the White Estate.

Many Adventists say their favorite Ellen White book is Steps to Christ.  This small but spiritually powerful little volume, first published in 1892, turned 125 years old in 2017. The anniversary was observed with the SC125 project in which thousands of Adventists worldwide read/reread this life-changing volume. Although millions of copies have been distributed through the years, during 2017 Adventists worldwide were encouraged to read the book again as though for the first time. In North America alone, more than 30,000 copies were distributed to students enrolled in Adventist schools across the Division. Steps to Christ is now available on egwwritings.org for free downloading in nearly 100 languages, with additional languages to be added in the future. If you have not read/reread Steps to Christ this year, you still have time to do so.  Your Christian experience will be the richer for doing so.

Other White Estate highlights in 2017 include:

  • Gift of Prophecy/Ellen White symposiums and seminars held in Argentina, Colombia, Russia, and Suriname.
  • The book Gift of Prophecy in Scripture and History is now translated into 5 languages:  German, Portuguese, Romanian, Russian, and Spanish (with more planned for 2018). [The English edition is available for purchase from your Adventist Book Center.]
  • Long-term Strategic Plan for the White Estate adopted after extensive vetting, including with General Conference/Division officers and General Conference Departmental directors.
  • Major Adventist heritage tours for:
    • — White Estate Research Center directors
    • — General Conference and Division officers
  • Hope Channel filmed an Adventist heritage tour for future release.
  • Work started on a new college textbook about the Gift of Prophecy that is being developed in cooperation with the Biblical Research Institute.
  • Work on development of Pitcairn II game is well underway. (Pitcairn I is now available for free downloading in 7 languages: Danish, English French, German, Portuguese, Russian, and Spanish.) An “Ellen White Says” game is also being created. [Estimated development cost for Pitcairn II is $7,000; estimated development cost for “Ellen White Says” is $14,000.]
  • Work continued on volume 2 of the Annotated Ellen White Letters and Manuscripts, 1860-1863. The completion date for this book has not yet been announced.
  • Additional exhibits were added to the Ellen G. White Visitor Center, including all known photographs of Ellen White, plus some 1929 home movies of the W. C. White family.
  • Completion of the manuscript for the long-requested Ellen White compilation on Christian leadership, entitled Principles for Christian Leaders: Inspired Advice for those Learning to Lead like Jesus. [Available for purchase sometime in 2018 from Adventist Book Centers.]
  • Updates and additions to the White Estate’s various Internet projects. [FOR SPECIFIC DETAILS SEE THE ATTACHMENT TO THIS EMAIL.]

Many of the above White Estate projects were made possible—in whole or in part—due to the generosity of the White Estate’s many friends.  To each, we at the White Estate say Thank You.

Additional projects for 2018:

Several projects will be worked on in 2018, including continuing any of the above that have not yet completed. Several additional projects are also being planned for the new year:

  • Create new and innovative materials to introduce Ellen White to children, including students.
  • Develop a manual for use by Spirit of Prophecy coordinators at all levels—from the local church to the Union Conference level.
  • Implement ways to elevate listings of websites that contain positive information about Ellen White when searching on the major Internet search engines.
  • Continue work on a book containing a collection of prayers that were offered by Ellen White.
  • Increase the number of Ellen White professionally read audio books in English and other languages.

Production of professionally narrated and recorded audio books is costly, but the difference for the thousands of listeners is worth the investment.  Current cost estimates for the five “Conflict of the Ages” books are:

PP: 146,105 words: $29,221.20 AA: 155,866 words: $31,173.20
PK 177,758 words: $35,551.60 GC: 240,532 words: $48,106.40
DA: 176,013 words: $35,202.60 Word Count total: 896,274, or $179,254.80

If you want to partner with the White Estate on any of the above projects, there are several ways to do so.  Secure on-line credit card donations may be made at https://partner.egwwritings.org.  Checks payable to the Ellen G. White Estate should be sent to Ellen G. White Estate, 12501 Old Columbia Pike, Silver Spring, MD 20904.  Gifts made via the church’s donation website, or placed in an offering/tithe envelope, should state clearly that it is for the White Estate.  In each instance, please also indicate which project you are donating toward. If an online donation, please send a separate email stating your project choice.

The team at the White Estate is committed to promoting Ellen White’s writings worldwide. Your investment in these projects helps make it possible for us to do so.

Thanks for partnering with us in this important work,

Jim Nix, Director

Ellen G. White Estate
